Born in 1994 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, he moved to Belluno at age eleven and has lived in Bologna since he was twenty. He has a degree in Educational Sciences. His thesis, titled “Betrayal and jealousy in monogamous and non-monogamous couples”, won the Premio UAAR.
In the past he has worked with the University of Bologna on research projects focused on Pakistani families living in Italy, and currently he is a PhD student in Learning and Innovation in social and work contexts at the University of Siena.
His research primarily deals with multiculturalism and Critical Race Theory (an academic field focused on relationships between social concepts of race and ethnicity, social laws and policy and media) with a focus on power dynamics and racialization practices as tools of the ruling class (mainly that of Europe), in order to maintain the status quo of whiteness.
In 2024 he published the novel Hijra with Fandango Libri, recognized at the Premio Calvino 2023 Racconti and winner of the prose category of the Premio Italian Review.
