A publicist since 1993 with a degree in Medicine obtained in 1994, today Roberta Villa carries out research at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, working on a team focused on the communication of science in Europe (Quest).

Throughout her career, she has participated in numerous European projects on communication and the prevention of potential infectious and pandemic threats. She followed the explosion of Covid-19 from the beginning, particularly taking advantage of its major presence on social channels. She was recently included by the President of the Council in the task force against Covid-19-related misinformation.

She has written for Corriere della Sera’s Health section for over twenty years, as well as for many other print and online publications, Italian and international. She is also a long-time collaborator with the Italian Association for Cancer Research (AIRC).

Together with Il Pensiero Scientifico Editore, Roberta Villa helps run the website “Dottore… ma è vero che?” for the National Federation of the Order of Doctors, Surgeons, and Dentists (FNOMCeO). In 2014 she co-authored Acqua sporca [Dirty Water] with Antonino Michienzi, an investigation on the Stamina case. Her other books include Vaccini. Il diritto di non avere paura [Vaccines: The Right to (Not) Be Afraid] (Corriere della Sera) and Il guerriero gentile. La mia vita, la mia battaglia [Gentle Warrior: My life, My Battles] both in 2017.
