A senior executive leading AI governance and enterprise AI transformation at global scale, she advises some of the world’s largest organisations on adopting artificial intelligence responsibly. She is a member of the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on AI, Equality and Non-Discrimination.

Her work has been widely recognised. She was named in AI Magazine‘s Top 100 Women in AI 2026, was Woman of the Year at the 2019 CyberSecurity Awards, and received the Privacy Leader of the Year: Technology Award in London in 2022 for her contribution to AI governance across business and institutions.
In 2019, she co-founded Women Leading in AI, an international network mobilising policymakers, scientists, academics, and entrepreneurs to build an artificial intelligence that reflects human values without gender distinctions.

She is the author of An Artificial Revolution: On Power, Politics and AI (Indigo Press, 2020) and co-author of The AI Book (Wiley, 2020). Her new book, AI Is Not Your Friend (Polity Press, 2027), examines how AI systems exploit human vulnerability – particularly among children and young people – and sets out a practical roadmap for governing them responsibly. She has contributed to international publications including Eva Futura (Marsilio, 2021) and Intelligenza Artificiale: Arte e Scienza del Business (Il Sole 24 Ore, 2023).
