Inaugural Visiting Executive Cybersecurity and Policy Fellow at Virginia Tech University and AI expert for the Council of Europe, she helps leading international organizations manage aspects related to privacy and personal data protection and address the ethical and privacy challenges related to Artificial Intelligence and Big Data. In 2019, she was named Woman of the Year at the CyberSecurity Awards, and in 2022 she received the Privacy Leader of the Year: Technology Award in London for her contribution to AI governance in both businesses and institutions.
In 2019, she co-founded Women Leading in AI, a network created with the aim of mobilizing politics to build an Artificial Intelligence that supports human objectives and values without gender distinctions, and which today brings together thinkers, scientists, academics, entrepreneurs and policy-makers coming from very diverse backgrounds.
She is the author of the nonfiction book An Artificial Revolution: on Power, Politics and AI (Indigo Press, 2020) and co-author of the manual for the use of artificial intelligence in financial services AI Book (Wiley, 2020). She has also contributed to several international publications including Eva Futura (Marsilio, 2021) and Intelligenza Artificiale: Arte e Scienza del Business (Il Sole 24 Ore, 2023). She regularly contributes to The Yuan community on issues related to privacy and ethics in AI.
A highly sought-after keynote speaker, she attends events around the world and comments on current media news stories where the tech economy intersects with privacy, data law, politics, gender issues and human rights.
