With a degree in Business Studies from Turin University, he started working for the Olivetti Group at Italia On Line, which became Libero.it, as marketing manager, marketing director and business director. He then went to work as General Manager for Italy at Lycos Bertelsmann, launching the first worldwide online search engine in Italy.
In 1999 he co-founded Vitaminic, a platform for web and mobile digital music distribution, managing a team of 150 people across eight markets, leading it to be listed on the Italian New Market Stock Exchange in the year 2000.
A Kaufman fellow and fellow of Fondazione BMW Siftung, in 2013 the European Commission appointed him advisor for the Future Internet Accelerators project.
He is the President of the Italian Tech Alliance and President and General Partner of Primo Ventures SGR, an investment company specializing in technology venture capital in the digital and space sectors.
He has written about the Internet and venture capital in Wired, Il Sole 24 Ore’s “Nova,” and CheFuturo!
He speaks on the many facets of digital innovation: from innovative start-ups to crowdsourcing, new technologies for the retail sector to innovation in the music industry, venture capital to e-commerce. He is a regular speaker in both corporate and institutional events.
