Born in Naples in 1982, he is now based in Milan. A journalist, author and podcaster, he explains climate science with depth and clarity, never turning to simplifications. He is the voice behind Treccani Encyclopaedia’s “Diplomazia climatica” [Climate diplomacy] entry. He also edits the newsletter and podcast Areale. A space for analysis about topics such as the climate emergency, energy transition and environmental policy, it is produced by the daily newspaper Domani.
In 2020, Mondadori published his book Italian Wood, a narrative report on the return of woods in Italy as an ecological, economic and political phenomenon. With Primavera ambientale [Environmental Spring] (Il Margine, 2022), he investigated new ecological movements and contemporary forms of climate migration, analysing the impact on public debate and institutions. In 2025, with Tempo di ritorno [Time for Return] (Guanda), he explored the climate crisis through the lens of personal family memoir.
A TEDx speaker, his talk, “Ascoltare le paure per una giustizia climatica nuova” [Listening to fear for a new climate justice], considered the climate crisis through the lives of the people who feel its effects in their daily life, showing how it isn’t only a question of environment but also of people, choices and shared responsibilities.
Rather than an emergency reporter, he is a storyteller who interrogates the dominant narratives with a perspective that blends scientific rigor and cultural knowledge. The climate crisis, in his telling, is not merely urgent: it is also understandable, discussible, and politically practical.
