Psycholinguist and researcher, educator and communicator, she attended the University of Pavia to study Linguistics and the the Scuola di Eccellenza IUSS for Human and Biomedical Sciences, followed by a PhD in Psychology and Cognitive Sciences at the University of Genoa.

At present she is an independent researcher with the Institute for Globally Distributed Open Research and Education (IGDORE) and Neurodiversity Studies Fellow at Durham University for 2025/2026. Alongside her research she has always carried forth her work in language technologies, since her first role in Alexa Machine Learning to consulting for the most current large language models (LLM).

In 2020 she created “narraction”, a communication project centred on neurodiversity, mental health, disability and accessible and inclusive communication. Since 2024 she has curated the newsletter Scienzolitica, in which she publishes insights and concerns regarding science, practice and technology, “citing the sources” with “data in hand”, but without claims to objectivity.

Her book debut, Neurodivergente. Capire e coltivare la diversità dei cervelli umani [Neurodivergent: Understanding and cultivating diversity of the human mind] (Tlon, 2024) was selected by the Italian prize for science writing, the Premio Nazionale di Divulgazione Scientifica, as among the 10 best publications of 2024 in the field of Life and Health Science. It was among the top three finalists for The Italian Review’s nonfiction prize (2025)

A co-author of articles in international scholarly journals and scientific and educational papers, from the first Italian manual of Pragmatica Sperimentale [Experimental Pragmatics] (il Mulino, 2022), to critical essays on themes of mental health and psychiatric culture, both nationally and internationally, such as Politiche dell’Autismo. Etica, epistemologia, attivismo [The Politics of Autism: Ethics, epistemology and activism] (DeriveApprodi, 2025) and The Double Empathy Reader (Pavilion, 2025).

As a keynote, she speaks with expertise on neurodiversity and disability, accessible and inclusive communication, speech and artificial intelligence.
