A graduate of International Relations and Human Rights Protection from Turin’s Political Science department in 2009, she spent six years working in international cooperation as a journalist and training consultant across sub-Saharan Africa for citizen journalism projects.

Today she is an adjunct lecturer for IULM University in Milan and the University of Italian Switzerland in Lugano. She also teaches Data Journalism for the Master in Journalism and Multimedia Communication at Luiss, and runs a Data Storytelling course for Scuola Holden.

As an expert in data-driven digital campaigns, she was a consultant for Change.org, the world’s largest platform for social change, as well as the crowdfunding platform Produzioni dal Basso.

She co-founded and for four years directed the Dataninja School, Italy’s first online data school. She is also a member of and campaigner for the Ondata association, which promotes the openness and accessibility of public data to make it a common good for all, and is a member of the scientific committee of the Indifesa report of the NGO Terre des Hommes.

She is the author of the books Ti Spiego il Dato [I’ll Explain the Data] (Quinto Quarto, 2021), Dentro l’Algoritmo [Inside the Algorithm] (effequ, 2022) , Quando i dati discriminano [When Data Discriminates] (Il Margine, 2024)and Perché contare i femminicidi è un atto politico [Why Counting Femicides is a Political Act] (Feltrinelli, 2025).
