With her “unique, wry and profound” voice (this is how the poet and literary critic Alba Donati described her, comparing her to Vivian Lamarque and Wislawa Szymborska), she has managed to find a new and engaging language for love poetry.
Born in Bologna in 1983, she has been studying rhythm and spoken word since 1987 thanks to the famous Piccolo Coro dell’Antoniano directed by Mariele Ventre, of which she was a member. At the age of eight, in response to a difficult childhood, she began writing her first verses. In 2006, she started the webpage of tragicomic short stories and poems ‘In comode rate’, which in 2019 lent its name to her first anthology In comode rate. Poesie d’amore (Interno Poesia) [In comfortable installments. Love poems (Internal Poetry)], which after three years is already in its thirteenth reprint.
In 2020, she began to devote herself to a project supporting the families of Alzheimer’s patients, which then also became a show performed in several piazzas in Emilia-Romagna.
In 2021, she published Mezze Stagioni [Midseasons], a short collection of poetic evocations for AnimaMundi, followed by D’Amore [Of Love] (with a preface by Alberto Bertoni), her second work of poetry in which the introspective themes of love, mourning and healing through psychotherapy find more and more space, now in its fifth reprint.
In 2023 she published Padre nostro [Our father], her first illustrated book, reprinted only 20 days after the first edition, and in the same year Non avere paura [Don’t be afraid]; in 2024 she authored the book C’era un’estate [There was one summer] (AnimaMundi).
She has participated and participates in numerous festivals and shows in Italy and has been published, with her texts and book reviews, in numerous magazines, national newspapers, printed and online newspapers and radio and television broadcasts.
In 2023, thanks to a meeting with Caterina Caselli, she authored two poetic texts for Sugar Music, set to music by Riccardo Sinigallia. One of these was made public for the first time at the Casa Internazionale delle Donne for the Roman presentation of the Fondazione Una Nessuna Centomila, with which, in support of a culture based on respect for fragility and care, she launched the project ‘Poesia. Una Nessuna Centomila’, a poetry workshop involving several schools in Italy.
