Tonia Cartolano

A television journalist, she is the top correspondent and familiar face of the Italian all-news channel Sky Tg24, and hosts the morning program Buongiorno.

Cartolano covered the biggest national and international news events in recent years, including the Abruzzo earthquake, the Viareggio train disaster, the G8 in L’Aquila, the Messina flood, the Avetrana case, the Costa Concordia shipwreck, the catastrophic earthquake in Nepal, the earthquake in Central Italy, and more recently the Morandi bridge collapse in Genoa and the pandemic in Italy.

A regular correspondent in Afghanistan, Lebanon, Kosovo and Libya, she has reported closely on international crises within their foreign contexts.

In addition to her work as a top correspondent for the Italian all-news channel, she hosts Skytg24’s morning program ‘Buongiorno’ aired daily from Monday to Friday.

The winner of numerous awards and prizes, Cartolano is also author of the book Attacchi di panico: clinica, ricerca, e psicoterapia [Panic attacks: clinics, research and psychotherapy] with Professor Paola Vinciguerra (Liguori, 2010) and of the book on female leadership LEADHERS, storie di donne straordinariamente normali [LEADHERS, stories of extraordinarily normal women] (Santelli Editore, 2022).
