Guido Romeo

He is a journalist and author who focuses on innovation systems, digital economics and precision journalism, in order to achieve transparent information.

He is specialised in start-up companies, innovation, data journalism, and information access, as well as the FOIA (Freedom Of Information Act), sanctioning citizens’ right to know what data and documents are in government possession. He has received awards in both Italy and abroad, and carries out research and investigations in the field of precision journalism, including #doveticuri (where you’re being treated) regarding death rates in Italian hospitals and Il prezzo dell’Amianto (the cost of asbestos). He writes for Il Sole 24 Ore, Prima Comunicazione and Vogue. He is the co-founder of  Diritto Di Sapere and the author of  Silenzi di Stato, storie di trasparenza negata e di cittadini che non si arrendono (Chiarelettere 2016).

He works as a teacher of data journalism, digital journalism and information access at the IULM University, the Business School of Il Sole24Ore, at SISSA – International School for Advanced Studies in Trieste, and in courses recognised by the Association of Journalists.
