She is a pioneer of online journalism, and one of the most authoritative figures in Italy in the field of the digital economy and the digitalisation of businesses.
She is the editor-in-chief and public editor of the newspaper La Stampa and has worked in the field of internet and digital journalism since the 1990s, first as a web editor and later as the first social media editor in Italy. She was the head of the press office for the Chamber of Deputies in 2014 and 2015, during which time she was responsible for digitalising the Chamber’s communications. In the book “Internet, i nostri diritti” (Laterza) which she wrote with Guido Scorza, she described the Declaration of Internet Rights which was made law with a unanimous vote in November 2015, after two years of work by a Study Commission with Professor Stefano Rodotà. Since 2016 she has directed the master’s Course in Journalism at the University of Turin, and she is in charge of the website Futura.news.
She has been a professional journalist since 1986 and graduated from Yale with honours in History. She also has a Master’s degree in journalism from Columbia University.
