Deputy editor at Giornale di Brescia leading digital development since February 2022, Masera worked at the newspaper La Stampa for over 20 years, first as web editor, then as the first social media editor in Italy, and then as public editor, the first and only one in Italy.
Masera has been a specialist on the internet and digital journalism since the nineties. In 2014, she was called to the Chamber of Deputies, and in 2015 she was appointed head of its press office, where she led the digitalization of its communication systems.
In Internet, Our rights (Laterza), co-written with the jurist Guido Scorza, she shared the Declaration of Internet Rights, which was voted on unanimously in November 2015 in the Chamber, following two years of work in the Study Commission with Prof. Stefano Rodotà. From 2016 to 2020 she directed the Masters in Journalism at the University of Turin and was head of Futura.news.
She has been a professional journalist since 1986 and graduated cum laude from Yale in History, with a Masters in Journalism from Columbia University.
