Where and when
Bologna, 2019
To mark the occasion of FOTO/INDUSTRIA (PHOTO / INDUSTRY) 2019, the Industrial and Labour Photography Biennial organised by the Fondazione MAST, Elastica curated a series of free weekly workshops for at high school students, university students and young people interested in the world of photography.
The workshops were a moment to share ideas and suggestions regarding the thought process which leads to the creation of a photographic image. They focused on experimentation with different techniques which can be found in the work and research of the professionals who led the workshops. Giulia Ticozzi, the photo-editor of La Repubblica, shared her skills in the field of photojournalism with the workshop participants. Francesco Jodice, cityscape photographer, illustrated his experience in photographing the transformation process of cities. Michele Borzoni discussed his approach to the world of documentary photography, with particular focus on his research into the labour sector.
On Thursday 21 November Délio Jasse explained the main techniques that he adopts in the use of documentary material from family archives, as well as the manipulation and elaboration of images. The series of events came to an end with Erik Kessels, a Dutch artist, designer and art curator.
All the events took place at the Francesco Arcangeli Artistic High School in Bologna.
