“My name is Luca: A dance for Vialli” is the title of the charity event strongly supported by the Fondazione Vialli e Mauro per La Ricerca e Lo Sport Onlus to honor the memory of Gianluca Vialli in the first year after his death to the tune of cheerful and lively music of popular ballads, because “Vialli mustn’t be commemorated, he must be celebrated”.

It was an evening with a theatrical structure made up of remarks and spoken word performances not only telling the life story of the footballer, but also conveying the spirit of Vialli the man. The show was constructed to take the audience on a poetic journey through the three points of Luca’s life: football, music and solidarity. Among the speakers were athletes and journalists, artists and musicians, friends and admirers, each with memories and anecdotes to tell and share.

The show was hosted by Ilaria D’Amico and Tommaso Labate, accompanied by many guests from the world of football, including Roberto Mancini and Pep Guardiola, Sampdoria players in the ‘90-’91 Scudetto and of Juventus when he won his last Champions League in 1996. Plus Paolo Di Canio, Giorgio Chiellini, Gianluigi Buffon, Beppe Bergomi, Luca Marchegiani and Pierluigi Collina, along with sports journalists and commentators Bruno Pizzul, Fabio Caressa, Paolo Condò, Giorgio Porrà and Paolo Giampieri.

With a live soundtrack by Ballo Band, Paola Turci was also present to perform a moving rendition of the song “Leva Calcistica del ‘68”, as well as the singer-songwriter Dario Brunori and the virtuoso Maestro Mario Brunello. This was followed by the artistic performances of Neri Marcorè and Lodo Guenzi, and original theatrical texts staged by Paolo Nori and Valerio Aprea, the latter written by Makkox. A large part of the charity evening was dedicated to Fondazione Vialli e Mauro. Opening with the radio speakers Andrea & Michele of Radio Deejay and continuing on into a crescendo of emotion, Fedez brought his personal reflections of the moments he shared with Gianluca to the stage, joined by Sofia Vialli, whose moving tribute to her father was met with long and thunderous applause.

Elastica was responsible for the event contents, casting and communications, the production and graphic identity of the project, as well as the organizational secretariat, the management of institutional relations and the press office outreach which generated over 800 publications on paper print, web, radio and TV.

The event was organized with the patronage and support of Regione Liguria as well as the patronage of Genoa Municipality. Proceeds were donated by the Vialli and Mauro Foundation in support of the project “MOMALS: monitoring and multi-omics analysis of ALS” of the NeMO Clinical Centres of Milan and Arenzano (GE).
