These Lectures are not lessons. These Lectures are a journey of the mind, reconstructed in public, in a theatre, for an hour and a half. They tell the story of an adventure of the mind. The first series, called the Palladium Lectures, debuted in Rome in 2013 in the Palladium Theatre.
Including: KATE MOSS: On Taste,” “LOUIS THE 16TH: On Time,” “THUCYDIDES: On Justice,” and “PROUST: On Writing.” The latest series, with updated themes, took place in Mantua, the Italian Capital of Culture for 2016, as part of the twentieth edition of the city’s Literature Festival. The themes were: “THE MAP OF THE LONDON UNDERGROUND: On Truth”; “ALEXANDER THE GREAT, On Narration”; and “VAN DER WEYDEN’S “DESCENT FROM THE CROSS’: On Happiness.” Over the next few months, the Mantova Lectures toured Italy, from the Teatro Sociale in Mantua in September 2016, to Teatro dell’Opera in Rome. In 2018, they came to Teatro San Carlo in Naples.
The Mantua Lectures are an Elastica production, co-sponsored by Scuola Holden.
