An original format, it is a project that we have designed and produced for eight years. L’Eredità delle Donne is a project created and produced by Elastica, which for the past eight years has been responsible for the festival’s editorial format, production management, and standing as a leading event on women’s empowerment in Italy.

For the 2025 edition we formulated a radical concept with artistic director Serena Dandini, that ironically and playfully explores the intersection between Artificial Intelligence and Feminine Intelligence, making it a central theme throughout the three days of performances and talks. It is a collective narrative that highlights the expertise, perspectives, and stories of women who are reshaping the present, giving concrete form to an abstract concept through the voices of scientists, writers, activists, economists, AI experts, and leading figures in culture and public discourse.

30 events including performances, talks and presentations of new publications featuring 85 participants from all over the world. Once again we produced a programme that weaves established names together with new voices, prominent figures of scientific research, experts in artificial intelligence, activists, economists, writers and cultural leaders, to expansively explore the many forms of feminine intelligence. The result was a weekend in which every event was in dialogue with those surrounding it, giving the audience the impression of taking part in one, big conversation.

Among the line-up was stand-up comedian Michela Giraud, art historian and educator Jacopo Veneziani, Iranian 2023 Nobel Peace Prize laureate Narges Mohammadi, singer-songwriter Paola Turci and the music critic Gino Castaldo with their show La rivoluzione delle donne, actress Matilda De Angelis and journalist Francesca Mannochi. And then there was Chiara Rubagotti, who taught Alexa how to speak Italian, Enrica Porcari, the first ever woman to occupy the role of CIO at CERN, Valeria Parrella and Liza Ginzburg with their podcast on menopause Vamp, the director of the Ada Lovelace Institute, Gaia Marcus, Cristina Tomasi, founder of the daily il Manifesto, ex-parliamentarian and European MP Luciana Castellina, Sandra Bonsanti, South-African writer, activist and leading voice for LGBTQ+ Christians Mpoh Tutu Van Furth, and many others.

The sites: a new urban ecosystem for the festival. After spending many years at Manifattura Tabacchi, the site in which the festival was born, matured, and established itself, the eight edition has landed in the heart of Florence, redrawing the map of the event, interweaving spaces and visions: Teatro Nicolini has become the event’s narrative heart, the Auditorium Fondazione CR Firenze hosted the big panels, while Giunti Odeon bookshop was transformed into a lively ‘literary café’.

The OFF programme: the network delivering the festival throughout Italy. Next to the main stage, Elastica has continued to invest in Programma OFF, turning the festival into an open platform that gathers and prizes widespread energies. In 2025 the OFF programme consisted of over 5500 initiatives throughout Italy, with a network of associations, cultural institutions, educational groups and collectives that participated in the IF – Intelligenze Femminili theme with laboratories, installations, exhibitions and conferences. Elastica’s editorial direction guaranteed consistency of vision, while organisational coordination promised visibility for local projects who share the same idea of empowerment.

Communication. The festival’s visual identity, editorial narrative and media relations are central elements to Elastica’s work. For the eight edition, we developed a coordinated image that graphically embodied the theme of “IF – Intelligenze Femminili” and curated content creation for the website, social media and communication organs. The PR department’s efforts have raised the festival’s profile in major national and local media, cementing its status as a key event in the gender debate.

Once again in 2025, the agency coordinated work with its partners, maintaining a consistent record of an institutional and private partnership built over time. L’Eredità delle Donne is project by Elastica with Fondazione CR Firenze and Gucci as founding partners, with co-promotion by City of Florence and the Tuscan Region. The eighth edition was made possible thanks to SYNLAB and Nespresso. la Repubblica was a media partner and Rai Radio 2 was the festival’s official radio; thank you to Giunti Odeon for their collaboration.
