The first edition of L’Eredità delle Donne festival dedicated to womens’ contributions to human progress, invaded Florence for three days, from the 21 to the 23 September 2018, with large numbers of enthusiastic visitors. For a weekend, Florence became a city of women, and revisited its artistic and cultural heritage in the name of the Electress of the Palatinate (the last descendant of the Medici family who ensured that the dynasty’s legacy would stay in the Tuscan capital permanently).
Guests included Ségolène Royal, Liza Donnelly, Michela Murgia, Suad Amiry, Anna Bonaiuto, Lunetta Savino, Jhumpa Lahiri, Rula Jebral, Dori Ghezzi, Irene Grandi and many others. Another very special guest was Franca Valeri, who received the keys of the city from Mayor Nardella to mark the occasion.

The festival was founded by Elastica, and promoted and sponsored by the Fondazione CR Firenze, with the support of the Municipality of Florence and the partnership of Gucci, together with many other sponsors.
