Elastica was proud to have run the press office for “Caterina Sforza of Forli: The Nonconformist. 2022” under the artistic direction of Eleonora Mazzoni, helping choose which brilliant and expert personalities to bring to the stage.

First we started by analyzing the definitive elements already integral to this festival’s short history, starting with the figure of Caterina Sforza, who lived between the 15th and 16th centuries and was a pioneer across many fields, from cosmetics to medicine, fashion to literature.

Then, we ‘seasoned’ the already rich festival concept with some equally pioneering women: Concita De Gregorio (the first woman to direct the newspaper L’Unità in over one hundred years since its founding), whose books and stage productions help interpret the evolution of the female condition; Maria Luisa Frisa, among the best-known fashion and art curators; and aerospace engineer Amalia Ercoli Finzi, the first Italian woman to earn an aeronautical engineering degree, and currently, at the age of 85, a scientific consultant to NASA and ESA.

From there, the narrative had only to be written and proposed to various news outlets.

Women and power, women and beauty, women and science were the festival themes that anchored our communication.

What was the result? The development of fascinating content, the creation of the right connections, and our established relationships together turned the national media spotlight on a previously little-known event, enhancing both local reputation and the cultural initiative of the festival.

National TV and radio stations such as Italia 1, Rete 4, Rai Radio 2, RDS, Radio Capital covered Caterina da Forlì, the festival and the city. They were soon joined by Robinson, the weekly Sunday cultural insert of the daily newspaper La Repubblica, the daily newspapers La Stampa, QN, il Fatto Quotidiano, the monthly women’s magazine Elle, and the weekly magazines Viversani and Belli and Left.
