Eredità delle donne, the festival for women’s empowerment created and produced by Elastica, is back! Celebrating its fourth edition, this year’s event is themed “Next Generation Women,” where new generations of women dialogue with historical voices of feminism, with Serena Dandini returning once more as artistic director. Taking over Florence for three days, the festival features over 200 sold-out events, more than 90 guests, and a bill of more than 180 appointments OFF.
By now the festival’s unique format is becoming well-established. Balancing an international perspective and strong local ties, these three days present a sweeping view of the world’s most powerful women, thanks to a parterre of guests that include the Oscar-winning actress Geena Davis and the feminist leader Gloria Steinem. At the same time, the festival is deeply rooted in its host city, with countless local businesses and centers organizing thematically-linked events around Florence.
All live content from past editions was streamed on the event website and relaunched by Gedi Group newspapers, thanks to the collaboration of Alfemminile. Live broadcasts were followed by more than 510,000 users, and are still available on the website’s REVIEW section. During the festival, more than 45,000 people connected to the Facebook page, and more than 250,000 have watched in the last month alone.
L’Eredità delle Donne is an Elastica project, produced with Fondazione CR Firenze, and in partnership with Gucci. The festival is co-promoted by the City of Florence, with support from Atlantia, Enel, Intesa San Paolo, Poste Italiane and the participation of Manifattura Tabacchi. The festival is sponsored by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
